Two Days of Powerful Talks
March 06 & 07, 2017
10:30 am

The primary objective of this APC-Rangotsav conference is to provide a common platform for scientists, technologists, academicians and industrialists, to exchange their ideas and disseminate the knowledge on the developments taking place in various fields of Polymer and Coating Technology. This serves as a platform for young, inquisitive minds to interact with the leading scientists engaged in basic, applied and advanced research in the areas of their interest. The conference also highlights advancements and innovations in the world of polymer engineering and surface technology suitable for plastic, coating and allied industries. The organizing committee of the conference invites papers and posters in the enlisted areas from students, researchers, faculties, academicians, scientists and practicing engineers from all the institutions and industries, across the globe. The scientific program will include paper and poster presentation reflecting original research and critical review by the publication committee of the conference.

The Conference

Department of Polymer & Surface Engineering

The Institute of Chemical Technology is one of the reputed University, well known from last 83 years, actively involved in teaching and research, providing solutions to the industries and improving environment and quality of human life. The Institute was most popularly known as UDCT, this is the only university in India which is exclusively working in the field chemistry and since its inception it has created over 500 first generation entrepreneurs.

ICT was granted Deemed University status by MHRD in 2008 for funding and support as state owned deemed university. ICT was the first institute to be granted the elite badge by the government of the state of Maharashtra. This status put the institute on a par with other reputable schools such as the IIT, IISc, IISER. It also makes the institute, which has plans to set up a satellite campus and eligible for various special grants from the union and the state governments. ICT is considered to be the best post-graduate center in India and comparable to other top-level centers in the world.

Department of Polymer and Surface Engineering is known for an innovative approach to higher education and one of the most influential department in research providing a workforce of highly trained people in diverse disciplines. The department of Polymer and Surface Engineering comprises of two important branch of material technology, namely Polymer Engineering and Technology and Surface Coating Technology. This department was established in the year 1946 and in the last 70 years it has transformed into one of the most important branch of technology. Departmental academic activities consists UG and PG degree programs namely B.Tech. and M.Tech. Ph.D. Tech programs, also chemistry and green technology.

Department offers career-focused and experiential learning, which helps students get ahead in the job market and also provide life-long skills, internships and co-ops, opportunities for academic research, study abroad, on-campus student employment and projects designed for diverse groups of learners, including full-time, part-time students and adults returning to higher studies. The department has been receiving various grants and projects from UGC, DST, BRNS, DRDO and other agencies from India and abroad private industries and also MoUs with them for research collaborations. The department has state of the art instrument to conduct world class research.
